Seattle Parks and Recreation superintendent hosts open houses Sept. 22 and 26

open house flyerSeattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Jesús Aguirre has been focused on getting to know Seattle, its parks and facilities, and the city’s neighborhoods and people since he started in June. Now one of his main priorities is to get to know you better – stakeholders, customers and residents. Jesús will be hosting two open houses at Van Asselt and Northgate community centers in September.

He’s interested in hearing about your experiences – positive and negative, your desires for your park and recreation system and your ideas to make the department even better. Seattle Parks and Recreation has set up several opportunities for Jesús to connect with you directly.

The department is hosting two large open houses – one south of the Ship Canal, and one north of the Ship Canal. These will be great opportunities for you to meet and talk with the superintendent personally, as well as to learn all about the great stuff Seattle Parks and Recreation does.

These open houses will feature staff from all over the department to share their work — from the employees who buy and build new parks to those who organize summer camps to our park rangers. There will also be free children’s activities and food.
