Seattle Parks and Recreation offers a new class in Women’s Self Defense this spring at Rainier Community Center, 4600 38th Ave. S.
The class takes place on Sundays from April 15 through June 3 from 1 to 2 p.m. Cost is $60 per student.
Women 16 and older can learn effective self-defense techniques and perform drills to enhance skills. Techniques will include blocking, kicking and striking and escape strategies. Students will develop speed, strength and coordination.
The instructor, Great Grandmaster Allen J. Chinn, has 47 years of kung fu experience and has been teaching Women’s Self-Defense since 1986.
