If you like working with young people, you’re 15 or older, and you’re interested in making some money, please contact Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Athletics Program. 

We’re looking for men and women to become basketball officials for the Citywide Youth Games League, which runs from January through March 2011.  We encourage women and minorities to apply.

There is a special need for officials to work Saturday and Sunday.  League play runs from January through March 2011.

All basketball officials must participate in  Basketball Season Officials Training: 

• For all NEW and any official who has been officiating with us 3 years or less, you must attend one full three day session. You may attend a second session if needed &/or desired. 
• For those who are presently with the PNBOA, Women’s Association, AAU, CYO, and/or have officiated for the Seattle Parks Department more than 3 years, you are welcome to attend any of our training sessions.   
• ALL officials also must attend the Mandatory Official’s Meeting at Jefferson Community Center on Tuesday, December 14^th from 6:30-8:30pm. Please bring your Social Security card and Drivers License (or Passport) and be prepared to complete employment paperwork.

October 18           6:30pm – 8:30pm        Classroom & Court Training 

October 20           6:30pm – 8:30pm        Classroom & Court Training 

October 23           1:30pm – 4:00pm        On Court Game Training       

 

Session II                    Jefferson Community Center

November 1         6:30pm – 8:30pm       Classroom & Court Training

November 3         6:30pm – 8:30pm        Classroom & Court Training

November 6         10am – 1:00pm           On Court Game Training

 

Session III                  Miller Community Center

December 6          6:30pm – 8:30pm        Classroom & Court Training

December 8          6:30pm – 8:30pm        Classroom & Court Training

December 11        10am – 1:00pm           On Court Game Training

• Please bring a whistle and dress comfortably to be able to officiate. Example: shorts, warm-up pants, t-shirts and tennis shoes.
