Lake Union Park, located on the south shore of Lake Union, will be closed for public viewing of Fourth of July fireworks. The park is under construction, and not suitable for crowds. A small portion of the park will be open during the day to accommodate access to the Wooden Boat Festival. http://www.cwb.org/2010-wooden-boat-festival
Lake Union Park has been undergoing a multi-year renovation that when complete will include an interactive water fountain, model boat pond, history trail, hand-launch boat beach, new pathways, parking, lighting, and furnishings. A grand opening celebration for the 12-acre waterfront park is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010. The $30 million renovation includes $20 million in private donations raised by the Seattle Parks Foundation.
