Opening Celebration for Brighton Play Area
Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tim Gallagher and the Brighton Playfield neighborhood will celebrate the completion of the Brighton Playground on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 2:30 – 4 p.m. The play area is located at 6000 39th Ave S, near Aki Kurose Middle School.
The renovated play area features a paleontology theme in harmony with the Brighton Science Park. At the playground, children can excavate dinosaur bones in the sandbox and hunt for fossils depicted throughout the site.
This event welcomes the neighborhood school students back to school and celebrates the completion of this project along with Atlantic Street, Bayview and Bhy Kracke play areas. All four of these projects were planned, design and constructed in the first year of the Parks and Green Spaces Levy.
